UV Care and Use of Lamps

• The lamp should not be touched with bare hands. If touched, the lamp should be cleaned with a lint-free cloth and white alcohol before use.
• The machine the lamp is used on is very important. Bad, neglected and misused UV lamps have a shorter lifespan.
• The most effective drying power of the lamp is between 0 - 700 hours. The UV power of the lamp decreases after 700 hours. It can be used up to 1500 - 2000 hours under suitable conditions.
• UV lamps have an on-off life as well as an hour life. If the UV lamp is switched on and off at short intervals, the lifetime of the lamp is shortened. In short standby periods, it is more efficient to keep the lamp at low power than to turn it off.

Mercury UV Lamp Spectrum

Mercury vapor UV lamp is the most commonly used UV lamp model. This lamp model is suitable for all UV dryer models. The effective spectrum value is 365 nm.

Iron UV Lamp Spectrum

The effective spectrum value of iron lamps is wider as it is in the range of 340 - 440 nm. The ability to dry UV paints and lacquers is higher than mercury vapor lamps.

Gallium UV Lamp Spectrum

Gallium UV lamp spectrum values are between 400 - 430 nm. These lamps are used for drying paints or lacquers in depth rather than superficially. It is an ideal type of lamp especially for drying white paint in the wood sector. These lamps are preferred in UV drying machines used in sectors such as wood, packaging and marble.
